Job Title
Junior Level API / Microservices Developer – 100% Remote – EPA Government Customers
Job OverviewOur agile development team is seeking a junior level API / Microservices Developer to deliver modern IT solutions for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). You will work directly with government customers, GDIT developers and business analysts to create advanced software tools tailored to scientific applications.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test and deploy Java Spring Boot microservices for EPA scientific applications.
- Optimize microservices for performance, scalability and security following industry best practices.
- Collaborate with API developers, data engineers and other technical staff to ensure seamless integration with legacy systems and databases.
- Document design and implementation details using Atlassian Confluence and other relevant tools.
- Support the resolution of development and deployment issues and assist in continuous improvement of existing services.
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 0+ years of related software development experience.
- Strong Java full‑stack development skills (Java (8, 17, 21) versions) and knowledge of Spring Boot.
- Experience with SQL and basic object‑oriented programming concepts.
- Ability to obtain EPA Public Trust Level 4 clearance.
- US citizenship required.
