Lead QA Automation Engineer – Mobile & Web Platforms

About the role

As a Lead QA Automation Engineer — Mobile & Web Platforms , you will make an impact by ensuring high-quality delivery through robust automation frameworks and testing strategies for web and mobile platforms. You will be a valued member of our QA team and collaborate closely with offshore teams and stakeholders to drive automation excellence.

• Participate in daily stand-up calls and provide status updates.
• Manage and coordinate activities with the offshore team

• Update and maintain automation frameworks to ensure scalability and efficiency.
• Develop functional test cases and automation scripts for web and mobile applications.
• Perform functional and automated regression testing to validate application quality.

• At least 8 years of experience in test automation for mobile and web applications
  .
• Strong experience with automation frameworks such as Appium, Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
  .
• Hands‑on experience in API automation testing using tools like Postman, Rest Assured
  , or similar.
• Solid knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, NUnit, TestNG, or Jest
  .
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Type Script, JavaScript, Java, or Kotlin
  .
• Strong experience with database testing and validating stored procedures using SQL
  .
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI, Bitbucket).
• Familiarity with cloud‑based mobile testing platforms (Browser Stack, Sauce Labs).

• Experience in performance testing and security testing.
• Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes for test environments.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for test execution.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to mentor junior team members.

The annual salary for this position is between $71,100 to $112,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
