Senior Manager, Software Engineering, Full Stack – Capital One Software (Remote)

Capital One Software is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering who is passionate about marrying innovation with emerging technologies. In 2022, we publicly announced Capital One Software and have since brought two of our B2B software solutions to market;
Slingshot and Databolt. Building on Capital One’s pioneering adoption of modern cloud and data capabilities, Capital One Software is helping accelerate the data management journey at scale for businesses operating in the cloud. • Lead a diverse set of technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, latency sensitive applications and full stack systems to create robust, cloud native, resilient, and highly scalable solutions in data management and security domains.
• Write high quality code, perform code and design reviews.
• Share your passion for writing high quality code, staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community.
• Promote a culture of engineering excellence and being well‑managed, using opportunities to reuse and inner source solutions where possible.
• Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions.
• Be the guiding force for stakeholders in design and architecture discussions, helping the engineering teams make key technology choices, and staying associated with the use case through its development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with architects and product managers, and deliver robust cloud‑based solutions that drive powerful experiences for our customers.
• Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, Node, Go, and Rust, Open Source RDBMS and No
  
  SQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services.

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)
• At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
• At least 4 years of people management experience

• Master’s Degree
• 9 years of experience in at least one of the following:
  Java, Python, Go, Node, JavaScript, Type Script or Rust
• 4 years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
• 4 years of experience in open source frameworks
• 7 years of people management experience
• 2 years of experience in Agile practices

The minimum and maximum full‑time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part‑time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Remote (Regardless of Location): $204,900 – $233,800 for Sr. Mgr, Software Engineering

Richmond, VA: $204,900 – $233,800 for Sr. Mgr, Software Engineering
