Emerging Fraud, a specialized pod within the larger fraud organization, is dedicated to safeguarding smaller, growing business lines and strategic investments. Our mission is to integrate robust fraud prevention from the outset of a new business line, enabling secure and sustainable growth.
About the RoleDoor Dash is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Emerging Fraud engineering team. This team focuses on assessing fraud risks for new business lines, implementing crucial fraud controls, and developing customized fraud solutions for consumers, merchants, and dashers that align seamlessly with the existing Door Dash experience.
As an Engineering Manager, you will partner closely with product, design, and operations partners to define the roadmap to build anti-fraud mechanisms with minimal friction. You will manage a team of talented backend engineers to build advanced detection and fraud prevention solutions and solve challenging technical problems.

- Collaborate with Product Managers, Business leaders, and key stakeholders to determine the team's roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that roadmap
- Provide architectural guidance and professional development for a team of 5+
- Encourage innovation, teamwork, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and outside‑of‑the‑box thinking
- Oversee the hiring process for your team, in partnership with recruiting, to grow a diverse and inclusive team
- BS, M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years of experience in people management leading backend teams
- 8+ years of industry experience
- Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast‑paced, product‑focused development environment
- Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization
- Hands‑on leadership and strong product intuition
- Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback

Compensation
The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job‑related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market‑dependent and may be modified in the future.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.
