Cloaked is a privacy startup dedicated to rebuilding consumer trust in how personal data is used. Our vision is to create an internet that serves the needs of its users, first and foremost—privacy and opt‑in at the core. Our product is a virtual “cloak” that you use as you visit any website—Facebook, Amazon, etc.—letting you choose to share all, some, or none of your private information based on personal preference.
$180,000 – $220,000 a year.
About CloakedCloaked provides auto‑generated identity credentials with a single click: masked emails, phone numbers, passwords, and soon credit cards. We build innovative solutions that keep users private online. Cloaked is building the first consumer‑based privacy ecosystem that offers complete data ownership without sacrificing user experience.
What will you do?- Drive retention metrics for Cloaked's consumer product and own the features that move them.
- Design and ship product experiences that create daily usage habits and improve long‑term retention.
- Build features that give users compelling reasons to return: progress systems, social mechanics, personalization, notifications, and other retention drivers.
- Run experiments to understand what drives engagement and iterate quickly based on what you learn.
- Partner with Engineering and Design to ship high‑quality features fast.
- Set up proper instrumentation so we can measure retention cohorts, activation patterns, and engagement trends accurately.
- Champion retention thinking across the product org and embed it into how we approach all product work.
- Use data to make decisions; understand cohort behavior, spot patterns in retention curves, and know which metrics matter.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Marketing, Support, and other teams to create seamless user experiences.
- You have shipped features that measurably improved retention and can talk about the data that proved it.
- You understand retention mechanics deeply: habit formation, progress systems, social features, personalization, and notifications; and you know what makes products sticky.
- You are strong with analytics, comfortable running experiments, reading cohort data, and setting up instrumentation.
- You have consumer product intuition and can spot opportunities others miss.
- You are technically fluent: you work well with engineers, understand feasibility, and can read basic code when needed.
- You communicate clearly and can bring others along with your thinking.
- You are in NYC and can collaborate in person.
- Experience at companies where daily engagement was the primary business metric.
- Experience building privacy or security products.
- Designed notification strategies and engagement systems.
- Familiarity with analytics platforms like Post Hog, Amplitude, or Mixpanel.
- Experience building products at AI‑first companies.
- You ship fast and iterate based on what you learn.
- You are comfortable running experiments and learning from failures.
- You are genuinely curious about user psychology and behavior.
- You use data to make decisions without getting stuck in analysis.
- You have worked at startups or high‑growth companies and can move quickly.
- You care deeply about user privacy and treat customer data the way you'd want yours treated.
Cloaked is a well‑funded Series A startup based out of NYC. Although we are a distributed team, the NYC team operates with a hybrid model. The office offers amenities such as a gourmet café, cocktail bar, rooftop workspace, and a fully built‑out kitchen with drinks and snacks.
