What You’ll Do:

• Design, build, and sustain systems and services that automate data ingestion, storage, and retrieval of our healthcare price transparency dataset. These mission-critical systems underpin Serif Health’s entire data portfolio.
• Prototype product user experiences and APIs on top of the data and work with our team to transform prototypes into robust customer-facing products and features customers will use
• Collaboratively define the product engineering roadmap & architecture for our company, and document our processes as we grow.
• Keep abreast of developments in healthcare technology

What we expect:

• At least 3 years of commercial experience in a software product
  -development role
• Fluency in Go (or another compiled/typed language) + familiarity working with Postgres and Git
• Familiarity with Amazon AWS stack (EKS, EC2/ECS, RDS, S3, etc) and cloud-based infrastructure monitoring tools (Datadog, etc)
• Understanding of container execution environments (Docker, k8s) in cloud infrastructure
• An ability to work independently, move quickly, and self-manage for high impact in a small team environment.
• Passion for increasing affordability & transparency in the US healthcare market

What we'd love to see (Bonus):

• Familiarity with NodeJS primitives (streams, emitters, async)
• Experience working with any of the following data: healthcare billing / coding / pricing, medical claims and explanation of benefits
• Experience working with massive data sets and high-performance systems at scale (data sizes 1TB+, 200BB rows/mo)
• Prior experience in roles requiring direct interaction with customers

Job Location:Anywhere in the U.S.

- Serif Health is a remote-first company with team members across California, Ohio, Washington, and New York. We hold company gatherings at least quarterly in rotating locations across the U.S. for team members to get to know each other and collaborate in-person.

We’re going to cover a few real-world data processing problems we've seen in the existing payer data & pricing data set. We’d love to understand the process you’d take to solve these, understand your creative & problem solving process, and hopefully get you excited about the challenges we’re working on.

You'll also get the chance to meet other engineering and leadership team members via introductory chats. This is a chance for us both to understand working styles, and motivations for wanting to work in this problem space.
