Position: Software Engineering Manager with Security Clearance
Amentum is currently seeking an Software Engineer with experience with the full range of software development to join our award winning team as both a software engineering expert and a personnel manager.
Bachelors Degree in computer science or engineering and 3 or more years of experience or Masters Degree and 1 year of software development experience. Responsibilities:
* Management responsibilities including but not limited to:
* To be familiar with Amentum's personnel policies, with the Program needs and able to communicate with the customer, when required.
* To manage 10 or more personnel which includes on boarding, interim mentoring sessions, performance appraisals and advising in customized development plans.
* Engineering responsibilities including but not limited to:
* To support analysis of software performance characteristics in the software development life and test cycle, to measure the computer processing time usage and come up with optimal methods for disk space utilization, network loading and throughout.
* To enable designing, coding and maintenance of software support tools and modes.
* To support the analysis of tools to aid in the software development process including test automation tools, code coverage tools, and memory checking tools. Primary work location will be at Dahlgren Naval Air Station, and Fredericksburg, VA area with some telecommute as needed for company deliverables. Minimum Skills and Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree (in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, IT Systems, Business Systems or Related Field).
* Current IAT Level II certification required.
* Two or more years of primary software development work in an Agile Software Development environment is required.
* Candidates must maintain a valid Real r's license required for access to customer site and have access to reliable transportation (rideshare options such as Uber, Lyft etc. are not permitted) as this position requires occasional travel between local worksites during the week.
* Must have an active Secret US Government Clearance.

Note:

US Citizenship is required to hold a Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications includes past supervisor experience such as:
* Experience as a supervisor of 5 or more staff members desired.
* Experience providing mentoring and feedback to personnel when correction is needed.
* Software Tools experience with as many of the following as possible:
* Systems Task Management:
Modern Scripting
* Dev Sec Ops  CI/CD Platforms:
Gitlab CI/CD, Jenkins
* Code Quality/Analysis:
Sonar Qube, Coverity
* Containerization:
Docker, Podman, Buildah, Kubernetes, RancherOS
* Environments:
Linux such as Red Hat, Ubuntu, Fedora, RPM based distro
* Programming
