About the role
As a Sr. QA Automation Test Engineer (Playwright with Type Script), you will make an impact by ensuring high‑quality software delivery through robust automation frameworks and testing strategies. You will be a valued member of the QA team and collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to drive excellence in testing.
In this role, you will:- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright and Type Script.
- Write and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand enterprise tech stacks and develop automation solutions.
- Design, develop, and implement automation frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
- Analyze and troubleshoot test failures, identify root causes, and provide solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality and testability.
- Continuously improve and optimize test automation processes and tools.

What you need to have to be considered- 5–7 years of experience in test automation development using Playwright and Type Script.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, or similar.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with advanced SQL queries and data validation.
- Exposure to cloud environments and containerization tools.
- Knowledge of performance and security testing.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to mentor junior QA engineers.

The annual salary for this position is between $53,477–$92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
