As a Software Engineer on the Proposal Activations and Documents team, you’ll play a pivotal role in building and evolving a high-impact platform that empowers financial advisors to deliver personalized, investment strategies with speed, clarity, and confidence.
What you’ll do:- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and intuitive digital tools that streamline proposals and onboarding workflows.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and fellow engineers to deliver seamless advisor experiences that integrate retirement, brokerage, education, and other account types into a unified proposal.
- Leverage modern technologies and cloud-native architectures to build resilient, high-performance services that support Edward Jones’ growing SMA/UMA and fee‑based planning initiatives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Dev Ops automation.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related field or related work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development. Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Type Script) and frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, React). Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure), microservices, and API‑first development.
- Proficient in at least one of the following:
- Web Application Development
- Client/Server Application Development
- Mainframe Online and/or Batch Development
- Enterprise or solution specific purchased software
- Understand business implications of projects for systems within responsibility and prior experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Current INTERNAL home-based associates: While this role is posted as hybrid,
if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status
. Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home‑based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on‑site work.
** Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.**
