Fugro’s innovation teams are responsible for carrying out developments serving both internal users and Fugro clients. With Innovation centers in Canada, Brazil, USA, and other key locations around the world, you will be joining a global innovation group with a tradition of developing best‑of‑class applications in the Geo‑data space. Our engineers are experts in domains such as spatial data, cloud computing, deep learning, and process automation.

As a Data Scientist at Fugro, you will work at the forefront of applied AI and machine learning, shaping the future of intelligent productivity tools within Fugro. We are looking for talented individuals who have a passion for understanding what makes an AI solution work and how to measure its performance, driven by curiosity and a desire to impact, transforming complex data into tangible improvements and new innovative products.

• Develop and maintain high‑quality software during its lifecycle;
• Research, design, and implement machine learning models to enhance our data solutions;
• Work closely with engineers and product managers to bring AI models from prototype to production;
• Implement software projects using Python and C#, or similar technologies;
• Ensure regular communication with other developers and teams involved in the development process;
• Implement, test, and perform system and functionality corrections (bug fixes);
• Act as a member throughout the delivery process of agile methodologies using Scrum;
• Build and maintain efficient and reliable/stable source code;
• Collaborate with team members at all stages, from prototype, production and implementation/progress throughout the project;
• Solve complex real‑world challenges effectively, efficiently and creatively;
• Act as a quality keeper by documenting code, processes, architectural decisions, increasing code coverage continuously.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields
• 6+ years of experience coding with Python and/or C#;
• Proven experience with scikit‑learn, pandas, and other data‑related frameworks;
• Experience with API development;
• Solid understanding of database concepts and SQL;
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and Git Hub;
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies;
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills;
• Actively integrate AI tools and techniques to accelerate development cycles and improve software quality;
• At least Upper‑Intermediate level of spoken and written English.

• Cloud Certifications, preferably AWS;
• Familiarity with Git Hub and Git Hub Actions;
• Previous experience working with geospatial data.
