Salary up to £60,000 negotiable, depending on experience + benefits. They offer a hybrid/remote working model (REMOTE FIRST) which requires at least one day a month in their office in Chester.
They are looking for a Backend Laravel Developer to further capitalise on their explosive growth over the last few years. The ideal candidate will work within an important part of the business and will have a passion to improve and develop systems and online capabilities. They are agile, focused and keen to gain further market share and the developer team is a key part of this growth strategy.
They are seeking an inquisitive thinker, someone who asks lots of questions, and is a problem solver.
- A Senior Backend Laravel Developer to assist in modernising the Laravel app.
- Experience:
- At least 2 years of Laravel
- At least 5 years of frameworked languages (Laravel or others)
- SQL/MySQL/Maria
DB indexes & table design - Data: worked with big data and enjoys it
- Worked with many APIs, e.g Stripe, Google, AWS, OpenAI
- Understands Backend concepts such as Data Caching/Job Queues
- Personable:
- Happy to travel to Chester once or twice per month
- Solve problems rather than a task worker
- Shows interest in the app
- Wants to work as part of small team but be a key figure
- Doesnt rely on Junior developers (small agile team where everyone is involved)
- Asks lots of intelligent questions
- Great communication skills - written & verbal
- You see this as more of a hobby or passion than just a job - reads up on latest technology etc
- Wants to grow with the company, not just a stepping stone
- Has worked in a similar industry
- Worked with an app with a huge number of database models (theirs has 800+)
- Has worked with microservices
- Dev Ops experience, e.g. taking a MySQL backup
- You will learn a lot and quickly - Marketplace app
- Ability to change and see your work in a real world environment used by millions
