This role is pivotal in providing cutting-edge IT solutions to global operations, specifically within the VPC (Vehicle, Product, Calculation) product landscape, which serves as the central hub for financial vehicle data and product maintenance within the Group IT Hub South Africa

• Location & Relocation: Applicants based outside of Gauteng must be willing to relocate to ensure successful integration with the hybrid rotation model.

Product / Team Context: VPC combines all essential systems to provide a central and seamless Sales & Finance offer for all channels. This includes managing financial vehicle data (residual values), maintaining the central repository for financial products, and providing APIs (Calculation) that connect Sales & Finance systems to the broader CBS and TNR landscapes.

Qualifications &

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in full-stack development.
• Proven track record of successful project delivery in a similar role.
• Mandatory: Experience working in an Agile environment.

Essential

Skills:

• Proficiency in Java 8, 11, 17+ and React for full-stack development
• Strong understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and Java Script
• Experience with RESTful services and API development
• Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL and No
  
  SQL
• Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
• AWS knowledge
• CI/CD

• Knowledge of design patterns
• OOP (Object Oriented Programming and Design)
• API Development, Calling and creating REST services, RESTful APIs
• Quarkus (highly advantageous)

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices

• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues
• Contribute to the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines

• Document technical specifications and processes
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to team goals
