Waracle is a world‑class digital technology consultancy looking for a Senior Backend Developer who will go beyond coding to become a key technical leader. You will own end‑to‑end delivery of critical backend features in C# and .NET, mentor junior talent, and shape tactical direction across multiple client engagements.

• Feature Design & Delivery: Design and deliver end‑to‑end backend features and subsystems, ensuring code is modular, reusable, and scalable across projects.
• Dev Ops & Automation: Own and execute Dev Ops/CI/CD tasks, including setting up and maintaining pipelines and automation to streamline build, test, and deployment.
• Performance Optimisation: Optimise service performance, scalability, and resilience through application‑level improvements (query tuning, caching, threading, memory management).
• Security & Testing Strategy: Deliver and maintain robust application security and guide the testing strategy (unit, integration, service‑level) to ensure release readiness and service accuracy.

  Lead feature delivery, independently resolve day‑to‑day issues, and shape tactical direction by identifying and mitigating risks while evaluating trade‑offs (speed vs. quality).
• Cross‑Client Context Switching: Manage work across multiple clients, adapting quickly to different application landscapes and priorities.
• Mentoring & Community Contribution: Mentor junior colleagues, conduct peer reviews, and contribute to the wider practice by introducing new industry ideas and owning internal Community of Practice initiatives.

• Core Backend Expertise: Proven proficiency in C# and the .NET framework (or .NET Core) in a commercial environment.
• System Design: Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable and resilient backend systems.
• CI/CD and Dev Ops: Experience leveraging CI/CD and Dev Ops tools to support and automate processes, complemented by familiarity with modern cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Senior Capacity: Demonstrable experience in a senior capacity, including leading work streams and driving technical direction.
• Database & Performance: Demonstrable experience with database technologies and optimising application performance (query tuning, caching).
• Communication & Leadership: Ability to confidently present demos to clients and stakeholders, and explain technical trade‑offs in plain language.
• Collaboration: Excellent organisational, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage with a wide variety of personality types.
