Senior Full Stack Engineer
Enterprise-level opportunity within the insurance industry for an experienced software professional to design, enhance, and support large-scale applications in a complex environment. Role based in Toronto, offering competitive rates and exposure to enterprise systems, production support, and strategic technology initiatives.
What is in it for you:
• Salaried: $60-69 per hour.
• Incorporated Business Rate: $73-83 per hour.
• 6-month contract.
• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
• In-office presence required from Tuesday to Thursday.
• Remote work available on Mondays and Fridays.
Responsibilities:
• Fine-tune and improve a variety of sophisticated software implementation projects.
• Gather and analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions to meet client needs and data requirements.
• Analyze and review enhancement requests and specifications.
• Implement system software and customize to client requirements.
• Prepare detailed software specifications and test plans.
• Code new programs to client specifications and create test data for testing.
• Modify existing programs to new standards and conduct unit testing of developed programs.
• Create migration packages for system testing, user testing, and implementation.
• Provide quality assurance reviews.
• Perform post-implementation validation of software and resolve any bugs found during testing.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in enterprise software development.
• 8+ years applying computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• 6+ years of experience building, enhancing, and maintaining large-scale applications.
• 5–7+ years of experience troubleshooting both legacy and modern production systems.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with unit testing, QA processes, and production support.
• Strong experience in large systems software design and development.
• Demonstrated expertise in problem diagnosis and resolution within complex enterprise environments.
• Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is considered an asset.
