Senior iOS Engineer

Overview

Polarsteps is hiring an iOS Engineer to help build and maintain our travel app.

You will:

• Work closely with senior iOS engineers and the product team on new features, improvements and daily operations of the iOS app.
• Be responsible for implementing new features, improving existing features and maintaining day‑to‑day operations of the iOS app.
• Embed in a product pillar team: collaborate with PMs, designers and engineers across disciplines from problem to solution.
• Proactively improve maintainability, resiliency and extensibility of the app, addressing technical debt or preventing it when appropriate.

• 5+ years of hands‑on iOS development experience.
• Experience working in an agile team environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and comfort with large UI, architecture or legacy refactoring challenges.
• Proficiency in Swift and familiarity with legacy Objective‑C code.
• Extensive experience building large apps published in the App Store.
• Deep knowledge of UIKit, Swift
  
  UI and building complex UIs.
• Experience writing and debugging multithreaded code with GCD, Combine, Swift Concurrency.
• Knowledge of Realm.
• Experience with Swift Package Manager.
• Experience using Xcode instruments to optimize performance and memory.
• Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Fastlane, Git Hub Actions).
• Experience leveraging AI tools such as Claude Code or ChatGPT Codex to improve development speed, code quality and debugging.
