This is an exciting time to join Remote and make an impact in the global employment space as a Staff Product Designer joining our Pay Ecosystem Product Design team. Design at Remote is a 40+ multi‑disciplinary team that crafts experiences and touch‑points that help Remote scale successfully and help customers attract, hire, manage, and pay anyone, anywhere.

The payroll team builds experiences that empower our customers to pay anyone, anywhere safely and compliantly. This is one of our most strategically important and high profile teams. Here you’ll be challenged by fascinating, complex, meaty problems that require primary research, robust strategy, innovative concepts, and simple but brilliant execution.

As Staff Product Designer you’ll be an IC leader who can effectively drive the excellence of craft across several teams or a large, important area, and will be required to advocate and collaborate with product designers, engineers, product managers, and stakeholders worldwide.

• An individual contributor designer with exemplary experience designing, evolving, and innovating user interfaces.
• Ability to empathise with enterprise users and apply user‑centered design techniques to strengthen design solutions at scale.
• An impeccable portfolio of product design work, with substantial evidence that showcases holistic, scalable systems and a masterful understanding of visual and interaction design fundamentals.
• Champion of consistency and systematic, holistic builds, while knowing when to prioritise innovation.
• Masterful communication skills to build strong narratives around design work, provide direction and guidance, and collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders – fluent in written and spoken English.
• Comfortable in a high‑growth, fast‑paced environment with a work history that demonstrates autonomous ownership of design for complex domains and multiple projects with overlapping organisational lines.
• Effective cross‑functional collaboration with product and engineering counterparts to build consensus and drive impactful outcomes.
• Respected voice in an organization focused on improving design system, product experience, quality, culture, and ways of working.
• Preference for experience designing complex B2B SaaS solutions for industries such as HRTech, Fin Tech, etc.
• Embodiment of and demonstration of Remote’s core values.
• Remote working experience is a plus.
• Strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.

• Lead all design for your domain, making strategic design and user‑experience decisions for core features, and driving initiatives focused on future functionality.
• Increase team maturity through mentoring, giving and soliciting feedback, and collaborating to continually raise the bar for quality.
• Partner with cross‑functional partners and stakeholders to understand customer needs, generate creative ideas, validate viable solutions, and implement them to the highest standard.
• Self‑driven with the ability to work with minimal supervision, packaging and presenting solutions to the broader creative team quickly and superbly.
• Create user flows from low‑fidelity wireframes to pixel‑ready designs that lead to intuitive user experiences.
• Contribute to creating and maintaining the design system, participate in team critiques and reviews, lead cross‑domain initiatives, and facilitate design workshops.
• Collaborate closely with engineering to build scalable, polished components and maintain parity between design and coded artefacts.
