Sky Box Labs is seeking a versatile, experienced C++ Software Engineer to join our team working on projects within the Minecraft universe. This is a high-impact opportunity to contribute to one of the most successful game franchises in history, where your skills directly shape the experience of millions of players. Your subteam will be responsible for low-level systems and features that directly ensure players worldwide play the game with smiles on their faces.

- Collaborate with a team of engineers to help drive engine and feature improvements
- Utilize strong problem-solving skills to conduct thorough risk assessments and analyze upcoming tasks
- Test software, address bug issues and identify performance issues
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback on how to develop and improve processes, tools and workflows
- Execute on software development tasks independently, and leverage your team as needed
- Push the boundaries of what you know by learning new technologies and systems to meet our technical and business needs
- At least 4+ years of professional software development experience, ideally in games
- Proficiency in C++ is required (specifically C++17 and forward)
- Strong written and oral communication skills are critical for this collaborative team
- Strong problem-solving skills with a quick ability to learn new tasks
- Flexibility with technical skills and abilities to work on different areas of the project as needed
- A commitment to self- direction, collaboration and constant improvement
Nice-to-haves:
- Low-level systems experience
- Platform experience (console/mobile)
- Familiarity with the AI engineering problem space and Git Hub Copilot
- A track record in Unreal Engine 5
- Game development experience (even at the hobbyist level)
- A passion for Minecraft!

The base salary range is $100,000 - $140,000. The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sky Box Labs reasonably expects to pay for this position. Your base salary will be determined by various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, skills, and experience.
