A growing and forward-thinking IT business is looking to add a Junior PHP Developer to their team. This company designs, supplies and supports business communications, websites, IT solutions and tracking systems that genuinely help businesses operate smarter and more efficiently across Staffordshire, South Cheshire and North Shropshire.

You will be involved in developing, maintaining and improving a range of web-based systems, applications and client projects. The role will suit someone who enjoys hands‑on programming, writing clean code and building reliable solutions that clients depend on daily.

• Supporting the development and maintenance of PHP-based applications and websites
• Writing clean and efficient code with support from the wider team
• Assisting with existing web platforms and systems
• Working across backend and website functionality
• Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
• Supporting new development projects and improvements
• Collaborating with internal teams on customer‑focused solutions
• Learning and developing technical skills within a supportive environment

• Some commercial experience with PHP development
• Good understanding of programming and coding principles
• Knowledge of web development technologies
• Experience or understanding of MySQL databases
• Understanding of HTML, CSS and Java Script
• A willingness to learn and develop technical skills
• Good problem‑solving ability
  
  Strong communication skills and a positive attitude

• Exposure to Laravel or other PHP frameworks
• Understanding of APIs
• Knowledge of Git/version control
• Interest in IT solutions, websites or business systems
