As part of its ongoing efforts to grow its infrastructure footprint, Exoscale is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer
. The role focuses on designing and implementing Exoscale’s confidential computing product at the system level, working closely with product teams. It involves deep ownership of hypervisor internals and operating system stacks. The engineer will also contribute to the evolution and maintenance of Exoscale’s base systems.
- Design, develop, and implement Confidential Computing at the hypervisor level.
- Design and maintain Exoscale’s operating systems and hypervisor fleets, from kernels to the network stacks, including security filtering layers.
- Contribute to routing and security automation systems implementations.
- Shape the operating system images strategy, from bare metal to virtual machines.
- Maintain and improve system container runtimes.
- Improve provisioning and deployment systems.
- Help improve bare metal and hypervisor systems performance.
- Contribute to the overall design and architecture of the Exoscale platform systems.
- Contribute to internal tooling development.
- Improve systems and processes to be scalable and highly available, helping achieve outstanding SLAs.
- Participate in code and change reviews.
- Take part in the on‑call rotation after a training period.
- Solid experience with Linux, its kernel, and system internals.
- Familiarity with Confidential Computing concepts and hardware-level technologies (AMD SEV, Intel TDX, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of Secure Boot, chain of trust, attestation, and key management.
- Experience with KVM virtualization.
- Good knowledge of eBPF.
- Good knowledge of container runtimes.
- Experience with Golang and Python.
- Experience with configuration management solutions and large‑scale infrastructure.
- A passion for automation and inclination to write documentation.
- Curious, autonomous, and eager to learn new things.
- Team player comfortable working in a distributed team.
- Good English communication skills, written and spoken.
