Job Summary

Join Capgeminis Financial Services Business Unit within the C&CA (Cloud & Custom Applications) practice as a Lead Java Developer (CIAM). Guided by our vision to Consult with Purpose. Continuously Evolve. Architect Tomorrow., you will lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure identity and access management solutions that underpin digital customer experiences. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, enabling you to shape modern architectures, guide teams, and deliver resilient, user-focused systems.

As a trusted, AI-aware lead engineer, you will drive quality outcomes while contributing to a future-ready, high-performing engineering workforce.

Hybrid working:

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure applications supporting identity and access management capabilities
  • Drive the evolution of microservice and event-driven architectures to improve flexibility, performance, and resilience
  • Own technical quality and delivery outcomes, ensuring solutions meet business, security, and user experience expectations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into clear, deliverable solution designs
  • Guide and mentor engineers, fostering strong engineering practices and continuous capability development
  • Enable efficient, reliable delivery by improving integration, release, and deployment approaches
  • Ensure high standards in code quality, maintainability, and design through best practice leadership
  • Support system stability through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to reusable patterns and standards that strengthen engineering consistency across teams
  • Apply AI awareness to enhance development practices, productivity, and innovation

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong experience in Java-based enterprise application development
  • Proven experience leading or guiding engineering teams in delivery environments
  • Deep understanding of microservice and event-driven architecture patterns
  • Experience designing secure, scalable APIs and integration solutions
  • Strong understanding of identity and access management concepts and secure application design
  • Proven experience delivering customer-facing, user-centric applications
  • Solid understanding of clean code principles and maintainable software design
  • Experience working with relational databases and data modelling concepts
  • Familiarity with container-based application development approaches
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to operate with ownership, guiding delivery in complex and evolving environments

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Spring Boot or Spring Framework
  • Familiarity with messaging technologies such as MQ, JMS, or Quick

    FIX/J
  • Experience with Angular or modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS for front-end collaboration
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Team City, Git Lab CI, or similar
  • Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools
  • Experience working within CIAM or identity-focused platforms and implementations
