OS Kernel Development Engineer

Position: OS Kernel Development Engineer - Hybrid Role
Join Wind River as a Senior OS Kernel Engineer in Kanata, ON, working in a hybrid model. Help develop cutting-edge kernel components for the scalable VxWorks platform.

This senior role requires you to leverage your extensive experience in operating systems and RTOS to develop essential kernel components. You’ll be expected to maintain high standards in coding and testing while working within an agile framework. As part of a cross-functional team, you will investigate and resolve complex issues impacting product verification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop Core OS technologies for embedded VxWorks solutions

• Deliver high-quality code and tests through CI/CD practices

• Investigate and resolve reported software issues

• Create documentation for new technologies and conduct reviews

• Work collaboratively with hardware and software integration teams

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of operating systems and RTOS

• Hands-on experience with embedded software development

• Strong C programming skills required

• Familiarity with other languages, including C++ and Python

• Experience adhering to industry certification standards like DO-178C
