Job Description

Contract opportunity ending December 31, 2026. Flexible hybrid schedule as part of Fidelity’s dynamic working arrangement.

Toronto office at 483 Bay Street until late 2026; thereafter, Mississauga office at 3 Robert Speck Parkway.

• Define and implement technical strategies and architecture for software development projects.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
• Ensure adherence to best practices, standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Design, develop, test, and maintain system solutions.
• Produce and maintain thorough technical and functional documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance software development processes and capabilities.

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of Progress Open Edge experience within the financial services industry.
• Strong technical expertise in software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.
• Working knowledge of Open Edge ABL (Progress 4GL) and OOP.
• Expertise in relational database management systems (RDBMS).
• Deep understanding of the RDSP and RESP, including eligibility, contributions, and government grants and bonds.
• Proven experience developing and integrating APIs for data exchange using RESTful services.
• Exposure to API development is beneficial.
• In‑depth knowledge of mutual fund and business processes.
• Experience with government‑registered plans and relevant financial regulations.
• Strong decision‑making skills and ability to resolve complex software challenges.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts.
• Technical writing and well‑organized documentation skills.
• Current work authorization for Canada.

• Hourly rate ranging from $54 to $83, based on experience and qualifications.
