Position: System Engineer | Web Hosting | Based in Europe
Hostinger is seeking a System Engineer to design, run, and evolve infrastructure that powers millions of websites worldwide. The role involves collaborating with other engineers, building automation, and shaping system architectures.
Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement new features to improve hosting platform speed, reliability, and scalability.
Deploy and run infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and automation.
Operate and observe systems through real metrics and troubleshoot performance issues.
Refine and tune systems to eliminate bottlenecks and simplify complexity.
Improve monitoring and alerting to detect problems early.
Share knowledge and review code with peers to raise engineering standards.

Qualifications

Strong experience with Linux OS (3+ years).
Proficiency with Ansible for automation.
Programming or scripting skills in Python or Go (preferred both).
Experience managing and optimizing web servers, databases, and caching systems.
Comfort with cloud platforms such as GCP.
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals – DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP.
Experience applying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools.

Nice-to-Have

Experience with Dev Ops practices and open-source contributions.
Knowledge of CI/CD tools beyond Git Hub Actions.
Ability to read Go and PHP code.
RHCSA or RHCE certifications.
