Who you are
What you’ll do

As a Senior Software Developer, your key area of responsibility will be ensuring the functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability of system architecture for Public Works fleet management products. You will be responsible for the implementation of project tasks, as well as managing day-to-day activities like writing scalable, secure software and performing quality assurance through peer reviews. You will also need to provide regular status reports to key partners to ensure the project is on time and meeting expectations.

To be successful in this role you will be a proactive communicator and a self‑starter who delivers consistently and owns work end-to-end. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong analytical and project management skills with an ability to identify needs, develop effective solutions, and ramp up on unfamiliar codebases without hesitation. The successful candidate will also be able to manage multiple timelines and contrasting priorities to ensure timely results.

How you’ll make an impact:

Listen and contribute to design discussions and make detailed notes and documenting requirements and technical design.

Provide guidance to more junior team members, sharing knowledge across the teams.

Perform quality assurance by doing peer review, ensuring coding standards are followed, looking for logic errors and other bugs.

Analyze call stacks, trace files, performance data to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of bugs.

Participate in development of prototypes, minimum viable products and proofs of concept.

Provide assistance to our support staff and resellers from a technical perspective. This may be in the form of on‑call or ad‑hoc questions relating to how certain features work or verifying the behaviour by reviewing code.

Research new language features, frameworks and other relevant technologies and offer recommendations to Leads and senior leaders.

Assist in defining best practices to be used in the team.

Provide design documents and documentation to ensure efficient maintenance and code reuse.

Ensure the functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules and system architecture for each assignment.

Participate in a 24x7 on‑call rotating schedule (if applicable).

What you’ll bring to this role:
5 – 8 years of experience as a Software Developer using object‑oriented programming to build scalable applications (C# and full‑stack background preferred).
