Our client is looking for the following candidate to join a high-impact Dev Ops team responsible for the development and maintenance of central ordering applications within the Group IT Hub South Africa. The product focuses on the central management of the ordering pipeline, driving the weekly and daily booking of slots across global production plants, order scheduling, status management, and final handover orchestration to the markets.

• Elite Java Mastery: 15+ years of comprehensive Java and Spring Boot development experience, specializing in microservices architecture, complex integration patterns, and robust data layers (SQL, ORM, Kafka, JMS).

Qualifications &

Experience:

• Relevant IT Degree or Diploma.
• Minimum of 15+ years of active Java development experience.
• Extensive experience operating within high-availability Dev Ops and Agile frameworks.
• Demonstrated record of extensive AI usage that goes significantly beyond basic prompt engineering.

Essential Skills & Technologies:

Core Backend & Distributed Systems:

• Java Spring Boot expert design and development of scalable microservices.
• Asynchronous messaging & event streaming platforms:
  Kafka & JMS (MQ).
• Data access layers: JDBC, Object-Relational Mapping (ORM), and structured SQL.

Frontend, Cloud & Version Control:

• Requirements Sizing: Engage directly with global end-users to unpack complex business requirements, actively driving the functional refinement and sizing of user stories.
• Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify system impediments, architectural risks, or blockers, executing immediate resolutions or escalations to appropriate stakeholders.
