Lead Software Engineer

Salary: £68,000 - 93,000 per year

• Strong experience with Python and Django
• Successful applicants must meet eligibility requirements to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC clearance)
• Proven experience in system design and architecture from end to end
• Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams
• Experience working in secure or structured environments
• 5 years experience, ideally 8 to 10 years

• Lead the design and delivery of scalable software systems, translating user needs into well-defined technical solutions
• Develop secure, high-quality, test-driven code
• Take ownership of live service performance, ensuring consistency and reliability
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and UCD specialists across multiple work streams
• Ensure integration across complex systems
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices

We are recruiting for an exciting Lead Software Engineer opportunity with our client, working on high-impact and secure systems. This is a 12-month contract inside IR35 with hybrid working, offering 60% home working and 40% onsite attendance across our offices in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, or the North East.
