Senior Front-end Developer

We are searching for a Senior Front-end Developer with experience in NodeJS, Type Script and VueJS
. Studyportals Headquarters is in Strijp-S, Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Flexibility to work remotely.

We change the lives of millions of students and help educators diversify their international student population. Our platforms (e.g., ) support students in finding their best matching education for free, while helping educators improve outcomes.

To help as many students as possible, we need to build and improve functionality with a strong focus on technical excellence and product thinking. This includes new tooling to assist content generation (using AI), client campaigns, revenue tracking, and more. Our goal is to help students find their best matching study. You contribute by writing high-quality code. There are many technical challenges to tackle, and initiative is highly valued.

• Rebuild our content management approach by leveraging AI-powered mass editing and review capabilities, ensuring content accuracy and clarity for students across portals while maintaining quality standards.
• Create new functionality and optimize the existing system to grow identified enrollments and revenue processes.
• Help us become more scalable as a platform by decoupling dependencies and driving a microservice architecture, while maintaining quality and control.

The Product Engineering department consists of 35 people. You are part of a scrum team of five. The Product Owner sets the product priorities. You, together with the Product Owner, are responsible for designing and implementing new functionalities to grow user engagement targets. As a developer, you influence what to build and how to build it. You report to the Software Engineering Team Lead, who helps you work effectively and remove impediments.

The technology behind Studyportals’ platforms is based on VueJS, Type Script, Node/NPM, PHP, Docker and AWS
. We work in a service-oriented architecture with RESTful APIs and AWS, following modern quality standards. We are scaling infrastructure and moving toward SOC2 compliance. We also experiment with new technologies when they help us innovate faster, including AI tooling and emerging frameworks.

• At least a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related field.
• You have 5+ years of experience as a Front-end Developer.
• Experience building applications in JavaScript component-based frameworks (e.g., VueJS, React or Angular). Proficient in modern JavaScript, Type Script, NPM, and Webpack. Strong on both front-end and back-end development.
• HTML5 and SCSS/CSS3, with emphasis on performance, accessibility, and responsive design.
• Proven track record of architecting and implementing performant and scalable front-end applications.
• Experience with automated testing as part of CI/CD driven software development.
• Clean, modular, and maintainable code following SOLID and modern software design principles.
• Collaborative, open communication, and ability to work cross-functionally.
