Python Software Engineer - AI

Python Software Engineer (AWS) Belfast | Hybrid | Are you a strong backend engineer looking to take the next step into AI? We're working with a leading financial services organisation that is expanding its AI engineering capability and is looking for an experienced engineer to join a growing Centre of Excellence. This is an opportunity to work on enterprise-scale AI initiatives, building reusable platforms and solutions that will be adopted across the business.

You don't need to be an AI expert already. If you have solid software engineering fundamentals and are passionate about emerging technologies, you'll be supported in developing your AI expertise while working alongside an experienced, high-performing team. What you'll be doing Designing and building scalable Python backend services. Developing AI-powered platforms and reusable components. Working with cloud-native technologies and modern engineering practices.

Building and maintaining infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code. Collaborating with engineers, data specialists and technical leads to deliver enterprise AI solutions. Contributing to architecture discussions and helping shape future AI capabilities. What we're looking for Commercial experience developing backend applications in Python. Experience working with AWS. Strong Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience. Excellent software engineering fundamentals. Someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems and learning new technologies.

Strong communication and collaboration skills. Nice to have Experience working with AI/LLMs or machine learning technologies. Exposure to cloud architecture and distributed systems.
