Position: FOUNDING PLATFORM ENGINEER (Back End)

As our Founding Platform Engineer, you’ll help establish the engineering foundations that everything else is built upon.

What You’ll Be Building

Work alongside the founders to build the core platform that powers getsoteria.ai. Your work will include:

Designing and building scalable platform services.
Creating reliable APIs and internal platform capabilities.
Engineering resilient systems that perform under real‑world conditions.
Designing data models that remain simple as the platform grows.
Building highly observable systems that are easy to operate and maintain.
Improving reliability, performance, and operational excellence across the platform.
Helping define engineering principles, architectural standards, and development practices that future teams inherit.

Experience That Will Help

Building modern backend or platform services.
Developing cloud‑native applications.
Data modelling and persistence.

We don’t need experience with every technology we use. We’re looking for people with sound engineering judgement, strong technical foundations, and genuine curiosity. A security background isn’t required; domain experience helps and can come from adjacent fields such as fintech, payments, healthcare, or critical infrastructure.

Engineering

We believe software engineering is changing. The best platform engineers of the next decade won’t simply write more code. They’ll design better systems. AI is already changing how software gets built, tested, and operated. We expect every engineer to continually explore how AI can improve engineering quality, accelerate learning, and reduce repetitive work. We build in Python, cloud‑native, event‑driven, distributed. The real architecture will be explained in the interview.

Why Singapore?

We’re intentionally building our founding engineering team together in Singapore. The earliest years of a company are different. Ideas become prototypes over coffee. Architecture decisions happen around whiteboards. Problems are solved through constant collaboration. We believe the speed, trust, and shared context that come from building side by side are among the greatest advantages an early‑stage company can have.

The Practical Details

Full‑time, based in Singapore. Hybrid; we work from home and co‑working spaces, and get together in person when the work needs a whiteboard. Competitive salary and meaningful founding‑team equity (you’ll own part of what you build). Applicants must already be living in Singapore and be legally authorised to work here.
