Embedded Linux Engineer – £70k – £80k – semi remote – Bristol

Hexwired Recruitment is recruiting for an international Electronics Manufacturer based in Bristol. The role is an Embedded Linux Engineer to deliver key projects for clients across Medical, IoT and the semiconductor industry, before developing bespoke products with an experienced team.

The position is based in the heart of Bristol, with a primary onsite schedule and occasional remote work.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain embedded Linux software for high‑speed processors.
Write drivers and firmware components, including RTOS support.
Collaborate with hardware engineers on optoelectronics and semiconductor solutions.
Support product development from design through to delivery.

Key Qualifications

Degree in Embedded Systems, Electronics or related field.
3+ years of commercial embedded software experience.
Strong experience in embedded Linux and driver development.
Experience with high‑speed processors from NXP or similar.
Background in optoelectronics or semiconductor industry is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Approximately £80k plus an excellent benefits package.
