Job Description & How to Apply Below
Their engineering teams build and maintain business critical systems that process enormous volumes of data and transactions daily, and they take the quality of that engineering seriously. Self organising, cross functional Agile teams, a genuine focus on continuous improvement and knowledge sharing, and a culture where engineers are trusted to influence technical direction rather than simply execute tickets. Why Work Here?
This is a company that is genuinely investing in Belfast. They have hired 12 engineers here already this year - not as a cost saving exercise, but because they are building serious engineering capability in Northern Ireland for the long term. The Belfast team is not a satellite office doing maintenance work. It is a core part of a global engineering organisation tackling complex, large scale problems with modern technology and real autonomy.
If you are a senior front end engineer who wants to work somewhere that takes engineering seriously, gives you the scope to influence how things are built, and surrounds you with people who care about the craft, this is worth exploring. The problems are hard, the interfaces have to perform at scale, and the opportunity to grow alongside a high calibre team is genuine.
Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Solution Architects and Principal Engineers to design and implement front end solutions aligned with IT strategy Build modern, scalable and maintainable web interfaces using React, Type Script, JavaScript and HTML and CSS Take ownership of engineering deliverables, ensuring quality, usability and adherence to best practices Create and maintain automated tests including end to end, integration and regression using tools such as Selenium or Cypress Drive innovation by exploring new technologies, frameworks and methodologies Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning Deliver consistent UX and UI across browsers with a strong focus on performance optimisation and web security Communicate progress effectively and raise impediments early to minimise delivery risks What You'll Need Essential:
Proven experience building modern, scalable and maintainable web interfaces using React, Type Script, JavaScript and HTML and CSS Strong knowledge of HTML5, React 16 and above, Type Script 4 and above, JavaScript ES6 and JSX
Experience with component libraries such as Material UI or Ant Design Hands on experience creating automated tests across end to end, integration and regression using Selenium, Cypress or similar Proficiency with build tools such as Webpack or Vite Understanding of performance optimisation techniques and web security best practices Strong problem solving skills with the ability to validate approaches through proof of concepts Solid understanding of the full SDLC with proactive involvement across design, development, QA and post release support Nice to Have:
Experience using Figma for design collaboration and mock ups Familiarity with Storybook for UI component development
Experience with AWS services, C# and relational databases Knowledge of TDD, BDD or similar testing methodologies Why Apply? Salary up to £65,000 Hybrid working with a Belfast base Part of a rapidly growing Belfast engineering hub - 12 new hires already this year Work on business critical interfaces at genuine scale within a world leading organisation Real opportunity to influence technical direction and mentor engineers around you Self organising, cross functional Agile teams with a genuine emphasis on innovation and knowledge sharing Collaborative culture with direct access to Solution Architects and Principal Engineers Long term investment from an organisation committed to building world class engineering in Belfast
