About the Company

Our client is a product-led technology organisation with a complex, mission-critical platform supporting workflows at significant scale. They are continuing to invest heavily in engineering capability and platform evolution, and are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who can shape both the frontend systems and the standards that will carry the platform forward. This is a serious engineering environment with serious frontend challenges worth solving.

The Role

This is a high-impact role for an engineer who acts as a technical force multiplier rather than a line manager. You will lead the design and evolution of scalable frontend architectures in React, Type Script and JavaScript, contribute across the wider full stack where needed, and help define the long-term technical direction of the organisation. Key Responsibilities

• Work on React, Type Script and JavaScript applications at scale
• Own scalability, performance and reliability initiatives across web applications
• Reduce frontend technical debt and drive measurable improvements in system health
• Partner with Product to translate complex workflows into intuitive, high-quality user experiences
• Collaborate with Platform and SRE teams to improve observability and operational excellence
• Mentor engineers and raise standards across teams through code reviews, coaching and knowledge sharing

What You'll Need

Essential

• 6+ years of software engineering experience operating at Senior level
• Deep expertise in React and the modern JavaScript and Type Script ecosystems
• Strong track record building scalable, high-performance frontend applications
• Solid understanding of API integration and full stack architecture
• Experience operating within complex or legacy product environments
• Proven ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams without formal authority
• Clear communicator who can drive alignment across Product, Engineering and Platform
• Right to work in the UK

Nice to have

• Experience with Node.js backend services
• Exposure to data-heavy or analytics-driven applications
• AWS or cloud-native architecture experience and familiarity with CI/CD and SRE practices
