We’re looking for T-shaped architects, people with strong core solution architecture capability, complemented by broad knowledge across multiple domains (e.g. applications, data, integration, infrastructure, or security).
You don’t need to have done everything. What matters most is how you think, collaborate, and approach problems.
This isn’t a role focused on isolated systems or incremental change. You’ll play a key part in modernising our platforms, simplifying our technology landscape, and enabling better outcomes for our members through well-designed, cohesive solutions.
You’ll work at the intersection of business strategy, architecture, and engineering, influencing how we design and deliver technology across a broad and evolving portfolio.
At Skipton, we’re founded on fairness. We exist to do right by our members - and we believe that starts with doing right by our people. So whoever you are and whatever you bring, there's a place for you here and a genuine plan for where you go next.
What You’ll DoEvery day at Skipton is innovation day. Join our Technology team and you’ll discover that we’re constantly focused on real challenges as we build the tools that get things done for our members - q uicker than you imagine.
- You’ll play a key role in turning strategic ambitions into practical, deliverable solutions, influencing transformational change, collaborating closely with engineering and product teams, and embedding architecture into delivery to create meaningful, lasting impact.
- Design end-to-end technology solutions aligned to enterprise architecture, strategy, and target-state capabilities
- Partner with product owners, delivery leads, and engineering teams to turn complex requirements into clear, actionable designs
- Guide and influence technical decisions, balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainability
- Provide architectural governance and assurance across the delivery lifecycle
- Identify risks, trade-offs, and opportunities to improve simplicity, reuse, and coherence
- Champion modern architecture approaches, including API-led integration, cloud-native design, and reusable platforms
We work in a hybrid way, balancing flexibility with collaboration. For this role, you’ll typically spend three days a week in our Skipton office, with the remaining two days working from home.
