Haven is looking for a Senior Engineer to join our talented Technology team, playing a pivotal role in shaping how we design, build and evolve the digital products behind memorable holidays for millions of guests.
As a Senior Engineer, you'll be a "go to" person within your squad, bringing deep technical expertise to both hands-on delivery and the wider engineering approach. You'll define how features get built, drive them through to completion, and help others grow along the way. Around 80% of your time will be hands-on engineering, with the remainder spent guiding, mentoring and shaping technical direction.

Your Opportunity Design and deliver well-crafted, tested and maintainable solutions across our digital estate Make effective use of AI capabilities throughout the engineering lifecycle, continually evolving your practice as tools and techniques develop Act as a technical "go to" for your squad, with a near-complete understanding of the systems you look after Define the approach to features and drive them through to completion Engage actively in product and engineering ceremonies, sharing ideas and constructively challenging assumptions Support and enable more junior engineers through knowledge sharing, coaching and mentoring Drive continual improvement within your squad and the wider engineering team Communicate progress, blockers and ideas clearly and openly Simplify and continually improve Haven's digital estate Keep developing your own capability, taking advantage of internal development tools and opportunities What we'd like you to bring Proven experience as a software engineer within a similar environment, using relevant modern technology Excellent working knowledge of one of C#, Dart or Type Script Excellent working knowledge of one of .NET,
Flutter, React or Node.js Excellent working knowledge of AI-enabled software engineering, including AI tooling, context management, prompting, agentic workflows and appropriate human validation Strong grounding in software design principles (SOLID, Clean Code) and testing practices such as TDD Good working knowledge of key technical areas including HTTP, REST, HTML and CSS, and/or relational databases depending on your focus Solid understanding of requirements engineering, story writing and acceptance criteria Familiarity with Agile, Lean and OKRs, along with CI/CD, logging, monitoring and alerting tools Good working knowledge of AWS or Azure, Dev Ops and SRE principles, and security concerns such as OWASP Top 10 Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills A curious, pragmatic mindset with the ability to balance quality, sustainability, risk and pace Why Haven?
