Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Senior QA Automation Engineer | Contract | Remote / Occasional office visit
£500 per day | Outside IR35 | September start | Initial 3 Months
A cutting-edge trading technology team are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to join an Agile delivery function where quality, automation and innovation drive success.
You'll play a key role in testing a new trading algorithm, API integrations, and backend services, ensuring seamless performance through robust automation, exploratory testing, and CI/CD best practices.
Key Skills Required
- Proven experience as an Automation Test Engineer / SDET.
- Strong hands-on API testing experience (REST) - request/response validation, status codes, payload assertions, contract testing.
- Solid exposure to .NET backends.
- Strong automation with Playwright using C# .NET
- Experience writing clear, maintainable test frameworks (e.g. Page Object Model, fixtures, reusable utilities).
- Experience with Azure Dev Ops or an equivalent (test case management, pipelines/CI).
- Strong grasp of the software testing lifecycle, test design techniques, and Agile ways of working.
- Good understanding of testing React / single-page / wizard-style web application...
