About the Role

Our client is looking for an innovative Automotive Software Developer to join their cutting-edge research and development team in Nelspruit . This role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing software solutions for automotive systems, potentially including infotainment, Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), vehicle diagnostics, or embedded control units. You will collaborate with hardware engineers, system architects, and product managers to bring next-generation automotive technologies to life.

The ideal candidate possesses strong programming skills, a deep understanding of embedded systems or software engineering principles, and a passion for the future of mobility in Mpumalanga.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, code, test, and debug software modules for automotive applications using languages such as C++, Python, or Java.
  • Develop and maintain software for embedded systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and system specifications.
  • Implement software solutions that integrate with automotive hardware components and communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and contribute to the overall software architecture.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automotive software technologies and contribute to innovation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on embedded systems or automotive software.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages like C++, C, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and automotive communication protocols is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a passion for automotive technology in Nelspruit .
