About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Senior Automotive Software Engineer to join their expanding remote engineering team based in Rustenburg . In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing sophisticated software solutions for next-generation automotive systems, including infotainment, driver assistance, and vehicle connectivity. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, product managers, and other software specialists to deliver robust, high-performance embedded systems.

- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for automotive control units and systems.
- Write high-quality, efficient, and well-documented code in C/C++ and other relevant languages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system architecture, requirements analysis, and integration testing.
- Develop and implement unit tests, integration tests, and validation procedures for embedded software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software defects and performance issues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development, with a focus on automotive applications.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Experience with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Understanding of automotive safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) is a plus.
