LocationInfleqtion has offices in the USA, United Kingdom and Australia. This is a full-time position split between our Kidlington, Oxford office and the National Quantum Computing Centre, Harwell. Work from home permitted up to 2 days per week based on business needs and manager approval. Candidate will need to be able to travel independently to these locations, as required.
Position SummaryAs part of our strategy for growth at Infleqtion UK, we are expanding our engineering team and recruiting an Embedded Dev Ops engineer. For this role, you will bring a mix of technical skills, problem-solving ability and effective communication, playing a pivotal role in development velocity and reliability for our quantum research, sensor development and productionisation of cutting-edge systems. This role involves a combination of development and maintenance of robust testing and deployment processes including hardware-in-the-loop testing and build pipelines for integrated software, firmware and gateware.
The role will be instrumental in defining our version control, auditing and engineering procedures around delivering production software for deployed systems. Additionally, the role will involve some maintenance of physical on-site hardware, network management, server administration to support our in-house research labs. The successful candidate will ideally possess a solid technical background in both systems engineering and software development.
- Software Deployment:
Manage containers and orchestrate CI/CD pipelines for efficient software deployment, robust testing and traceable updates. - Hardware-in-the-loop configuration:
Support both the hardware and software teams by managing configurations of multiple networked systems being used for development, testing & commissioning. - Infrastructure as code:
Design, develop, and maintain IaC solutions and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes. - Software security:
Define and own software security procedures that govern secure code development and deployment for software, firmware and gateware. - 'System-down'planning and response. Own lab system management and coordinate response to efficiently maintain high up-times. Plan and implement system backup policies to ensure swift recovery.
- Collaboration and Documentation:
Collaborate with both software developers and hardware engineers in a lab environment, documenting processes and system configurations for ongoing projects.
- Embedded Dev Ops experience:
Demonstrable experience developing and maintaining CI/CD, build, test and release processes for systems that combine software with embedded hardware, firmware or FPGA gateware. - Linux and automation expertise:
Strong Linux systems administration skills, including networking, permissions, service management and troubleshooting, together with proficiency in automation and scripting using Python, Bash or similar languages. - Configuration and release management:
Practical experience with Git-based development workflows, automated testing, artifact repositories and versioned releases, with an understanding of how to maintain traceability between source code, build environments, deployed software and physical hardware configurations. - Infrastructure and deployment tooling:
