Systems Engineer, Parts Library

Your role is to own the component reel library as one system: the tagged reels and racks, the machinery that retrieves them, and the ledger that keeps the record true against a customer's bill of materials.

The physical half is identification, storage and automated retrieval, out to kitting and feeder setup. The software half is the inventory ledger, its reconciliation against the shelf, and its interfaces up to orders and down to machines.

You will build the first racks, the tagging behind them, and the retrieval and kitting that feed the placement cell, and specify the interfaces that make a reel on a feeder and a line on a bill of materials one record.

We are looking for systems engineers with experience and interest in automated storage and retrieval, identification and traceability, inventory software, and the interface work that holds a store and its ledger to the same truth.

Every role works with our AI systems daily. What can be deterministic, must be. You need no AI background; we prefer people without one. We hire for your knowledge and experience in the field first, so you can steer the ship; the tooling is a learning curve we expect you to take on.

• Reel identification: barcode and RFID tagging, readers and scanners, label durability, identity scheme
• Storage and addressing: racks and cells, capacity and layout, control for moisture-sensitive devices
• Automated retrieval: the mechanism, the gateway at each rack, delivery to the placement machine
• Kitting and feeder setup: reservations by lot and date code, verification before a job
• The inventory ledger: append-only movements, reservations, attrition true-up, and in variants on quantities
• Cycle counts and reconciliation: counting programs, discrepancy investigation, and the process changes behind them
• Bills of material and orders: stock matching, shortfalls, reorder signals, and their interfaces
• Traceability from a placed component back to its reel, lot and date code

• A degree in systems, industrial or mechatronic engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience
• Hands-on automated storage and retrieval, and inventory systems in manufacturing: ledgers, lot control, kitting
• Fluent with identification technology: barcode and RFID selection, readers, and tag durability in industry
• Enough software to specify, review and test an interface rather than only consume one
• The judgment to find where a ledger and a shelf disagree, and fix the process
• Ready to build the first racks, tagging and retrieval on a line, and their interfaces

$100k to $250k base salary, plus equity
