Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) – AI-First Payments# Location-Remote (Canada)# Department-Professional Services# Reports To-Manager of Professional Services# About the Role Constellation Payment Processing is a modern Payment Facilitator (Pay Fac) empowering SaaS business to grow revenue through seamless, embedded payments. As part of Constellation Software Inc. Constellation Payments is building an AI-first professional services function to accelerate partner onboarding, integration, and value realization. The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) sits at the intersection of product, engineering, partner delivery, and AI-enabled process innovation. This role works directly with SaaS partners to design, build, and deploy AI-enhanced payment workflows and integrations.  # What You’ll Do
• Lead technical discovery sessions with partners  
• Design and implement API integrations (REST, webhooks, tokenization)  
• Build and maintain custom scripts, and lightweight services  
• Lead technical integrations from sandbox to production  
• Be deployed as part of partner development teams to help deliver best-practices-led integrations  
• Leverage AI tools for code generation and automation  
• Create repeatable AI-enabled delivery playbooks and certifications  
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Operations to drive implementation success  # What You’ll Own
• Successful partner implementations (time-to-live, quality, scalability)  
• Reusable AI-assisted assets (MCPs, templates, scripts)  
• Deliver efficiency improvements  
• Partner technical trust  # Basic Qualifications
• 3–6 years in software/solutions engineering  
• Experience with APIs and integrations  
• Proficiency in Java, Type Script, or similar  
• Flexibility to work in the partner’s language—not just ours  
• Customer-facing technical experience  
• Interest in or experience with AI-augmented engineering  #

Preferred Qualifications
• Payments or fintech experience  
• Knowledge of gateways and Payfacs  
• Experience with cloud (AWS preferred)  
• Familiarity with AI developer tools (Kiro/Claude/CoPilot preferred)  # Compensation, Benefits, and Work Environment

The On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this role is market competitive based on experience.
* Compensation Structure:
This range is inclusive of the base salary and variable compensation, such as a company-wide bonus or sales commission. The final compensation package will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience, capabilities, and location.
