Software Engineer Lead

Our client is seeking a Software Engineer Lead to join their team. As a Software Engineer Lead, you will be part of the Technology Department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Software Engineer Lead

Location: Montreal - Hybrid 2 days onsite

What's the Job?

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of custom software components and service-based architectures supporting ECM assets and document processing solutions.
• Drive solution architecture and technical design decisions across distributed systems, microservices, batch workloads, and event-driven applications.
• Design and develop integrations using Java/Spring Boot, REST/Open APIs, and Kafka to connect Enterprise Content & Document Management (ECM) assets with upstream and downstream banking systems.
• Lead batch-oriented integrations supporting ECM and CMOD loads, including high-volume document ingestion and transaction processing.
• Design AWS-based document workflows and integrations using AWS Lambda, AWS Batch, and Amazon S3.

What's Needed?

• 8+ years of experience with Java/Spring Boot, REST/Open APIs, Microservices, Kafka, and event-driven document & transaction processing.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience leading software development teams and managing complex technical projects.
• Strong understanding of cloud-based architectures, particularly AWS, and modern Dev Ops practices including CI/CD, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
