About the Role
Our client is looking for a talented and driven Remote Automotive Software Engineer to contribute to the development of cutting-edge automotive software solutions. This role involves designing, implementing, and testing software for vehicle control systems, infotainment, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). Working from anywhere in South Africa , you will collaborate with a global team of engineers and product managers, leveraging your expertise to shape the future of mobility.

- Design, develop, and maintain robust software components for automotive applications using C++, Python, or similar languages.
- Implement and test algorithms for vehicle dynamics control, sensor fusion, and real-time processing.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers and systems architects to define software requirements and interfaces.
- Develop and execute comprehensive unit, integration, and system tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and maintaining high coding standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues encountered during development and testing phases.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on embedded systems.
- Proven experience developing software for the automotive industry (e.g., ECUs, ADAS, infotainment).
- Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Python, with experience in software development methodologies.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment.
