About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Embedded Systems Engineer for a fully remote position, with potential ties to projects originating from Stellenbosch . This role is instrumental in the design, development, and testing of embedded software and hardware solutions for innovative products. You will take a leading role in architecting complex systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency. This position is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives on technical challenges, enjoys working autonomously, and is passionate about pushing the boundaries of embedded technology from a remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement embedded firmware and software for microcontrollers and microprocessors.
- Develop and maintain hardware-software interfaces and system architecture for embedded systems.
- Perform low-level programming, driver development, and system optimization for performance and power efficiency.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of embedded systems using various tools and methodologies.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and product managers, through virtual collaboration platforms.
- Stay current with emerging embedded technologies, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and industry best practices.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional experience in embedded systems design and development.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded applications.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux.
- Familiarity with hardware debugging tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG interfaces.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to work independently in a remote setting.
