Job Description & How to Apply Below

Capella Partners is hiring a Software Developer to support the Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) for the U.S. Air Force — a mission-critical platform used to collect, manage, analyze, and report military readiness information. You’ll work as part of a collaborative development team responsible for sustaining and modernizing the system, turning mission requirements into reliable software capabilities that directly support Air Force and DoD decision-making.

This is a fully remote position supporting a DoD mission and requires an active U.S. Government SECRET security clearance.

What you’ll do
  • Develop application functionality using C#, .NET, SQL Server, React, Redux, JavaScript, and related web technologies.

  • Build and maintain responsive, user-focused web interfaces using React, Redux, JavaScript, and modern front-end development practices.

  • Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, business logic, data access components, and integrations using C# and .NET.

  • Design, write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and database functionality supporting enterprise applications.

  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations between application components and external systems.

  • Deploy, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain application components within Microsoft Azure.

  • Work with system engineers, requirements analysts, government stakeholders, and other developers to translate mission requirements into technical solutions.

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and sustainment.

  • Analyze existing applications and code to identify defects, performance issues, technical debt, and opportunities for modernization.

  • Write clean, maintainable, secure, and well-documented code following established development standards.

  • Develop and execute unit, integration, regression, and functional tests to validate new and modified capabilities.

  • Troubleshoot application and production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

  • Participate in Agile/Scrum development activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.

  • Use source control, issue tracking, and CI/CD tools to support an efficient and repeatable development process.

What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience; equivalent education and experience may be considered.

  • Strong experience with modern software development practices and object-oriented programming.

  • Proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages such as Java, C#, JavaScript/Type Script, Python, or similar.

  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with web-based applications.

  • Experience with relational databases and SQL.

  • Understanding of software development lifecycle practices, source control, testing, debugging, and deployment.

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

  • Active U.S. Government SECRET security clearance.

  • Ability to maintain the required security clearance and access credentials throughout employment.

  • Preferred -Experience supporting the Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force, or other federal government programs.
