As our Senior React Native Engineer and founding mobile architect, you'll define the technical vision, architecture, and engineering standards that power the future of the MyDriveway mobile experience. Leveraging React Native and Expo, you'll bring key customer-facing capabilities from our web platform to iOS and Android while building a secure, scalable, and high-performing application designed for long-term growth.
You'll have significant influence over architectural decisions, development practices, quality standards, and release processes.
Beyond building the foundation, you'll help grow our mobile capabilities by mentoring experienced web engineers as they expand into mobile development. Supported by dedicated web, API, and database engineering teams that manage our Azure infrastructure, backend services, Salesforce ecosystem, and core web platforms, you'll be empowered to focus on what matters most: creating an exceptional mobile experience and establishing the framework for future innovation.
Location:
Remote (West Coast Hours) Target Hiring Range: $100,000-$140,000
- Architect and build a scalable React Native mobile application from the ground up using Expo, Expo Router, and Type Script, establishing the foundation for future growth.
- Define mobile engineering standards including state management, offline data strategies, code quality guardrails, automated testing, and secure development practices.
- Integrate enterprise systems by connecting mobile experiences to Azure APIs and platforms such as Salesforce and Snowflake while ensuring scalable, reliable data flows.
- Transform prototypes into production-ready solutions, optimizing performance, security, maintainability, and mobile user experience across iOS and Android.
- Lead and mentor engineers, helping experienced web developers expand into mobile development and adopt mobile-first best practices.
- Own the mobile delivery lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, App Store and Google Play releases, and ongoing platform evolution.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, QA, and Engineering teams to shape technical direction, define acceptance criteria, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years building and shipping production React Native applications.
- Advanced expertise with React Native, Type Script, Expo, Expo Router, and EAS build workflows.
- Strong background in mobile architecture, state management, offline-first design, performance optimization, and debugging across diverse devices and network conditions.
- Experience establishing engineering standards, automated testing strategies, and maintainable application architecture.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Git Hub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude and the ability to review and product ionize generated code.
- Proven ability to mentor engineers, drive technical decisions, and build alignment across teams.
- Experience with Azure, Salesforce, Snowflake, and Azure Dev Ops CI/CD pipelines.
