Jitterbit is seeking a Java Backend Software Engineer to join our Engineer team. Jitterbit is an iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service) and API Management platform that has been recognized in the leader quadrant of Gartner for five straight years. Our customers use our iPaaS and API Manager platform to solve mission critical business problems. What is our challenge? To make it easy to integrate our customers’ systems.

As a Java Backend Software Engineer, you will join our team to design, architect, and implement robust, scalable distributed systems that power our SaaS platform. This role offers significant technical depth and opportunities for engineers ready to grow into more senior responsibilities.

• Design and implement high-performance, fault-tolerant connector integrations and adapters that reliably handle mission-critical business workflows 24x7x365.
• Architect distributed microservices following cloud-native design patterns (circuit breakers, bulkheads, observability, etc.) for multi-tenant SaaS environments.
• Build and optimize data pipelines handling multiple protocols (REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, webhooks) and communication patterns (synchronous, asynchronous, event-driven).
• Drive technical decisions on critical subsystems; contribute to RFCs and architectural reviews; mentor junior engineers on system design principles.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and tracing; own the operational health and observability of deployed systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Dev Ops, and SRE teams to deliver features, resolve production incidents, and improve platform reliability.
