The Full Stack Developer is a member of the IT team, accountable for supporting and extending Lazer's existing Cold Fusion (CFML) applications while building new functionality on Lazer's JavaScript and HTML/CSS development stack. This role owns day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, and production support of the legacy platform, delivers new web application features, and participates in the gradual modernization of legacy functionality toward current web technologies.
The ideal candidate is technically versatile, self-directed, and proficient with AI-assisted development tools, while prioritizing code quality and security.
- Design, build, and maintain web applications and features using JavaScript and HTML/CSS as Lazer's primary development stack.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions in partnership with the Director of Platforms and Services and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and support Lazer's existing Cold Fusion (CFML) applications to ensure reliability for dependent business processes.
- Acquire working proficiency in Cold Fusion syntax, patterns, and application architecture to competently support and extend the legacy codebase.
- Execute the gradual modernization of legacy Cold Fusion functionality toward current web technologies, including scoping and de-risking migration work.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues across both legacy and modern applications within established response expectations.
- Produce clean, well-documented, and testable code and participate in peer code reviews with the development team.
- Apply AI-assisted development tools, including Git Hub Copilot, Claude, and ChatGPT, to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and documentation while maintaining code quality and security standards.
- Maintain current knowledge of JavaScript ecosystem tools, frameworks, and AI-assisted development practices, and share relevant findings with the team.
- Promote a business partner and ownership mindset to the team to prioritize customer service excellence, adaptability and resilience to change and continuous improvement.
