About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Mobile Developer with a strong focus on Android development to join their innovative product team in Bloemfontein . You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, feature-rich Android applications that reach millions of users. This role requires a deep understanding of the Android SDK, modern mobile development best practices, and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences on mobile devices.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features, contributing significantly to the mobile strategy.
- Design, build, and maintain advanced native Android applications using Kotlin or Java.
- Collaborate with UX designers to implement compelling user interfaces and intuitive user experiences.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications across a range of Android devices.
- Write clean, well-documented, and testable code, adhering to industry best practices.
- Work with backend teams to integrate mobile applications with server-side logic and APIs.
- Participate in code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior mobile developers.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience in native Android application development.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java, along with a deep understanding of the Android SDK.
- Experience with Android architectural components (e.g., View Model, Live Data, Room).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and mobile development best practices.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
