The Role:

Build and Operate Supabase Auth

Supabase supplies a developer platform built around Postgres, with database, authentication, storage, Edge Functions, Realtime and Vector Search services. Its Auth product uses Go on the server and Type Script client libraries, including support for server‑side rendering (SSR).

This role connects product development with the reliability of a security‑sensitive service. The engineer helps expand authentication features while maintaining the systems and integrations that developers already depend on.

  • Develop authentication features: build secure Go and Type Script functionality across server protocols and client integrations, including frameworks such as Next.js.
  • Improve protocol support: contribute to Auth architecture and integrations involving OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC) and SAML.
  • Own operational reliability: improve performance, capacity and observability through metrics, tracing, structured logging, alerting and dashboards.
  • Manage database changes: plan and execute safe migrations across a large fleet of Postgres instances while protecting service continuity.
  • Collaborate in public and internally: write and review requests for comments (RFCs), work with other engineers, and respond to developer feedback through Git Hub, Discord and other community channels.
Required Qualifications & Competencies Essential experience
  • At least four years of professional experience shipping Go in production
    .
  • At least two years working on authentication systems
, including protocol implementation or maintenance at scale.
  • Strong relational database experience with Postgres or MySQL; the listing identifies Postgres experience as an advantage.
Technical and collaboration skills

The employer also seeks strong Type Script skills and knowledge of cookies, sessions, JSON Web Tokens (JWT), HTTP and browser APIs. Authentication knowledge should cover passwords, OAuth, OIDC, SAML and cryptographic foundations such as hashing, signatures and ciphers.

Relevant framework experience includes Next.js or another JavaScript SSR framework, plus traditional frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Django, Laravel or equivalents. Production experience with Kubernetes and AWS, or a comparable cloud platform, is relevant.

Candidates should understand Go memory management, concurrency and compute‑resource…
