NLP Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled Natural Language Processing (NLP) Engineer to join their advanced AI research and development team in Soweto . This role focuses on building and improving systems that understand, interpret, and generate human language. • Design, develop, and deploy NLP models and algorithms for various language understanding tasks.
• Process and analyze large volumes of text data, extracting relevant features and insights.
• Build and refine machine learning pipelines for NLP applications, including text classification, named entity recognition, and summarization.
• Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to integrate NLP solutions into production systems.
• Evaluate and benchmark NLP models, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in NLP and computational linguistics.

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field with an NLP focus.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Natural Language Processing and machine learning.
• Proficiency in Python and relevant NLP libraries (e.g., NLTK, Spa Cy, Transformers, Hugging Face).
• Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., Tensor Flow, PyTorch) applied to NLP tasks.
• Strong understanding of linguistic principles and statistical modeling for text data.
